Incontinence Physical Therapy
Urinary Incontinence Physical Therapy is offered through the Physical Therapy departments of Arnot Health.
Many of the uncomfortable and embarrassing situations that arise from incontinence can be helped by physical therapy. Urinary incontinence is not a "normal part of aging." Physical therapy begins with an evaluation of the pelvic floor muscles, instruction of muscle strengthening exercises, behavioral modification techniques, education and biofeedback. We teach you how you can help yourself.
Patients are generally seen for two sessions per week for a three weeks and then once a week for three weeks. Patients typically report an improvement in function within two to three weeks.
