Jim is no stranger to Arnot Health. He has a long history with the organization, volunteering for 30 years and serving as the Arnot Ogden Medical Center Auxiliary President. On one Saturday morning, Jim began experiencing tightness in his chest and shortness of breath and he knew that a trip to the Emergency Department was necessary.
By Saturday afternoon, a simple CT scan had confirmed a serious condition known as a Pulmonary Embolism. A serious condition diagnosed by a common piece of equipment such as a CT scan. A medical tool that was cutting edge twenty plus years ago, and today can quickly diagnose serious conditions such as Jim's.
What new technology is right around the corner for our patients of tomorrow? Arnot Health will continue to be there for the groundbreaking technology in today's medical field so our patients will have the latest testing and diagnostics available to them. These resources will help cure what used to be incurable and give hope to situations that were once hopeless.

Contributions may be designated to go to the area of greatest need, to a facility, to a department, or to support professional education.
Arnot Ogden Medical Center tops the list of preferred healthcare facilities in the region. Founded in 1888, it is a not-for-profit, 256-bed tertiary medical facility with specialty services for cardiovascular care, cancer care, women's health services, NICU, and maternity, emergency medicine, and surgery.
St. Joseph's Hospital, located in Elmira, NY, provides skilled nursing care, out-patient rehabilitation, and in-patient behavioral science services.
Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital, located in Bath, NY, provides emergency care and services for the local community with a newly updated facility, adjacent to the Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital SNF/HRF in the Fred & Harriett Taylor Health Center.
