Comprehensive Diabetes Class
This 4-week class covers 10 content areas defined by the American Diabetes Association (ADA), presented by certified diabetes educators in four two-hour sessions. A physician referral and insurance approval is required.
Individual Sessions
These sessions cover the same 10 topic areas as the group classes, tailored to your individual learning needs. Our staff is knowledgeable about the leading meters, insulin pumps, and glucose monitoring devices. We teach proper insulin injection technique and personalized blood sugar management.
Intensive Insulin Education
These individual sessions are for patients who want to learn to adjust their insulin doses throughout the day. Learn to calculate your insulin dose based on carbohydrate intake and blood glucose value, and use an insulin pump or multiple daily injections to administer therapy. Includes personalized blood glucose follow-up.
Insulin Pump Information and Training
An insulin pump is an alternative to injections. Attend an informational session to learn the basics, find out what it takes to be successful, and what types of insulin pumps are available. If you decide to try an insulin pump, we offer a series of one-on-one sessions with a certified diabetes educator.
Medical Nutrition Therapy
Registered dietitians who specialize in medical nutrition therapy help you make personalized food decisions to improve your health.
