Addiction Treatment at Arnot Health
Treatment for substance abuse disorders can be a difficult process and the experts at New Dawn Inpatient Addiction Rehabilitation are specially trained to transition a patient from initial admission to recovery and beyond.
Our holistic approach uses one-on-one or group counseling to uncover the physical, social and psychological needs of each individual as well as the use of time-tested and proven programs such as the Twelve-Step program used in Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.
The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) defines addiction as a primary, chronic disease of the brain reward, motivation, memory and related circuitry. Recovery from addiction is best achieved through a combination of self management, mutual support and professional care provided by trained and certified caregivers.
We understand substance abuse disorders affect the whole family so family members and significant others are encouraged to become involved in the weekly family education series.
Once an individual is discharged, the staff at New Dawn coordinates with family and area agencies to create a maintenance plan to stay on the path of recovery.
Services
Inpatient Treatment - Comprehensive Care with Experienced Staff
The goal of inpatient treatment at New Dawn is to arrest the disease and prepare the patient for long-term recovery and a healthy productive life without the use of addictive chemicals. Treatment include medical monitoring; physical aspects of care; individual, family and group therapy; introduction and voluntary involvement in 12-step recovery programs of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous; therapeutic and educational lectures and films; nutritional assessment and information and exercise.
The New Dawn staff consists of a medical director, administrative director, activities therapist, healthcare coordinators, additional nursing staff, and chemical dependence counselors, all of whom are skilled in treatment of alcoholism and chemical dependencies. Staff members work closely with the Arnot Health Behavioral Science Unit to coordinate care and provide support for those patients with a dual recovery focus. The staff works as a team to identify and treat the physical, psychological and social needs of each patient while working towards increased self-esteem, confidence and pesonal growth.
Family-Based Treatment
The staff strongly recommends family involvement in the recovery process. A family education series is part of the New Dawn treatment program and is held every Sunday prior to visitation.
Family treatment services provide the opportunity to identify and define family problems that surface during treatment and support families with their recovery from the impact active addiction has had on the family. A family meeting with the patient and primary counselor is highly encouraged.
Lifelong Healing
Recovery is a lifelong process. Each patient leaves New Dawn with a complete plan for continued care, including appropriate arrangements and appointments with community service providers. The patient helps in preparing their individualized plan along with staff, family and referral sources. The goal of continuing care is to provide assistance during the transition from inpatient treatment to recovery in everyday life and preparation for the next level of recommended care.

Arrangements for referral or admissions may be made by contacting us at 607-737-7801 between 8 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Ask to speak with an admission coordinator. In addition, telephone inquiries or phone screens can be completed anytime day or night. Someone is always there, willing to help and support those in need of treatment.
Arnot Health is an approved facility for Blue Cross and other insurance carriers. Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care and Medicare are also accepted. Coverage for treatment at New Dawn is validated prior to admission.
New Dawn has more than thirty years of experience in helping thousands of inviduals confront their alcohol or chemical dependencies as a treatable disease and change their lives.
ADMISSION CRITERIA:
- Patients must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Must meet ASAM level of care criteria
CONFIDENTIALITY: Patients in New Dawn can be assured that all information pertaining to their presence and their treatment will be protected in accordance with all federal and state rules and regulations. Arnot Health adheres to the strictest of the confidentiality regulations: Title 42, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR 42), Part 2.
